What Are Four Characteristics Of Nephrotic Syndrome

Nephrotic syndrome is not a single disease while it is characterized by four major symptoms including massive proteinuria, swelling, hypoproteinemia and hyperlipemia.
1.A large amount of protienuria
The main elements of proteinuria is albumin ,it also contains other plasma proteins .Patient’s proteinuria is more than 3.5g every day ,there may be lipid urine .When the glomerular filtration rate reduce ,the proteinura will reduce ;when there is serious hypoproteinemia ,urinary protein excretion can increase ,high protein diet can make the proteinuria excretion increase .
2.Swell
The most obvious symptom of the nephrotic syndrome patient is systemic swell ,at first the eyelid ,face and ankle can see the swell ,with the illness develop the swell can spread into the whole body and can occur pleural effusion ,ascites ,hydropericardium ,mediastinal effusion ,scrotum or labia swell ,also can appear pulmonary swell .
3.Hypoproteinemia
Hypoproteinemia refers to patient’s serum albumin is lower than 30g/L ,when the compensatory function of patients with liver albumin is not enough to compensate for the loss of urine protein quantity will occur hypoproteinemia .
4.Hyperlipemia
Hyperlipemia is related to hypoproteinemia ,patients can present lipid urine ,the urine occur the double refraction of body fat ,it can be the epithelial cells which contains cholesterol or fat body tube type .
